Week 3 in the NFL has come and gone and we got a chance to welcome one more former Gopher to the NFL! Tyler Johnson made his rookie debut for the Bucs on Sunday, and one injured Gopher in Week two returned for week three. Here is a look at how the former Minnesota Golden Gophers did in Week 3 of the NFL season, and a look ahead to Week 4.
Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals
Week 3 vs Detroit Lions
Week 4 @ Carolina Panthers
Maxx missed his first of at least three games after being put on IR for the Cardinals.
De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Arizona Cardinals
Week 3 vs Detroit Lions
Week 4 @ Carolina Panthers
Campbell played all 67 defensive snaps for Arizona and recorded six tackles in the walk-off loss to Detroit last Sunday.
Chris Streveler-QB-Arizona Cardinals
Week 3 vs Detroit Lions
Week 4 @ Carolina Panthers
For the first time we did not get to see a trick play with Streveler in the game for Arizona. Maybe we will this week against Carolina.
Eric Murray-Safety Houston Texans
Week 3 @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Week 4 vs Minnesota Vikings
Murray played all 73 defensive snaps for the Texans as they fell to 0-3 on the season against Pittsburgh. Murray played his best game of the season against the Steelers recording five tackles, a forced fumble, a pass breakup and a quarterback hit on Ben Roethlisberger. Murray and the 0-3 Texans host the 0-3 Vikings on Sunday—probably assuming the Vikings COVID testing situation remains stable, and something has got to give.
Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Kansas City Chiefs
Week 3 @ Baltimore Ravens (MNF)
Week 4 vs New England Patriots
Wilson played on 36 of the defensive snaps for Kansas City good for 64% of the time when KC wasn’t in nickel to help the Chiefs get a big win over the Ravens to move to 3-0. Wilson played great in a big spot and recorded four tackles, a pass breakup and forced a fumble in their win.
The #Chiefs needed some help last night from the linebackers and they got it from Damien Wilson.

One of the best plays of the night comes from Damien Wilson. Gets a good drop into his zone and smartly catches Andrews coming in behind him so he gets in the throwing lane and gets the diving PBU pic.twitter.com/6s4s7Er0bE

Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets
Week 3 @ Indianapolis Colts
Week 4 vs Denver Broncos
Cashman sat out his second of at least three games on IR as the Jets fell to 0-3.
Antoine Winfield Jr. —Safety—Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 3 @ Denver Broncos
Week 4 vs Los Angeles Chargers
Antoine Winfield continued his impressive rookie season as he added six tackles, a QB sack, and a pass breakup in the Bucs win over Denver on Sunday. He played all 63 defensive snaps for Tampa.
He does a great job of timing this and not being fooled by the PA. pic.twitter.com/tcRAzCj0TT

Tyler Johnson-WR-Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 3 @ Denver Broncos
Week 4 vs Los Angeles Chargers
After being inactive his first two weeks Tyler Johnson finally made his NFL debut on Sunday. Johnson played 21 offensive plays for Tampa. He did not record any official stats, but unfortunately he is probably not on Tom Brady’s good side after his one pass that was thrown to him was....dropped. Unfortunately not an unfamiliar sight for Gophers fans. The play did not officially happen though as an illegal use of hands penalty on Iowa alum Tristan Wirfs brought the play back. Hopefully Tyler can continue to earn playing time and make an impact soon.
Brady's pass to Johnson is incomplete. But Wirfs is called for illegal use of hands and forces Tampa Bay to take a 10-yard penalty. pic.twitter.com/MFoSN4N0FB

Carter Coughlin-LB-New York Giants
Week 3 vs San Francisco 49ers
Week 4 @ Los Angeles Rams
Carter Coughlin got back on the field for the Giants a week after missing a game with a hamstring injury. Coughlin played 12 special teams snaps for New York but did not record any stats. Maybe he can get his first NFL tackle in Week 4 against the Rams.
