Minnesota Football: Gophers in the NFL Week 6

A bunch of new milestones for rookie Gophers!

NFL: Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Week 6 in the NFL has come and gone, and Tyler Johnson has finally found a familiar spot in the end zone of Raymond James Stadium! Hopefully it’s the first of many. We got at least one former Gopher back from injury and hopefully will see more this week! Here is our recap of how the former Minnesota Golden Gophers performed in Week 6 in the NFL and a look ahead to Week 7.

Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals

Week 6 @ Dallas Cowboys (MNF)

Week 7 vs Seattle Seahawks

Maxx remains shelves on IR with an ankle injury. He hopefully may be back in two weeks after the Cardinals bye week.

De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Arizona Cardinals

Week 6 @ Dallas Cowboys (MNF)

Week 7 vs Seattle Seahawks

Campbell played 72 snaps and recorded five solo tackles and two assisted tackles in the Cardinals blowout win over Dallas on Monday Night Football.

Chris Streveler-QB-Arizona Cardinals

Week 6 @ Dallas Cowboys (MNF)

Week 7 vs Seattle Seahawks

Streveler once again did not see any action as the backup QB in the Cardinals romp over Dallas.

Eric Murray-Safety Houston Texans

Week 6 @ Tennessee Titans

Week 7 vs Green Bay Packers

Murray played all 75 defensive snaps for the Texans and recorded four solo tackles and one assisted tackle in the Texans heartbreaking OT loss to the Titans. They host Green Bay this week.

Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Kansas City Chiefs

Week 6 @ Buffalo Bills (Monday afternoon football??)

Week 7 @ Denver Broncos

Wilson played just 23 snaps in the Chiefs win over Buffalo on Monday afternoon but he made them count as he recorded five solo tackles and one assisted tackle in the win.

Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets

Week 6 @ Miami Dolphins

Week 7 vs Buffalo Bills

Cashman was officially added back to the active roster for the Jets game at Miami. He played 19 defensive snaps and recorded one tackle in the loss to the Dolphins.

Antoine Winfield Jr. —Safety—Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 6 vs Green Bay Packers

Week 7 @ Las Vegas Raiders

Winfield played 59 snaps for the Buccaneers and recorded three solo tackles and two assisted tackles in the big win over the Packers.

Tyler Johnson-WR-Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 6 vs Green Bay Packers

Week 7 @ Las Vegas Raiders

Tyler Johnson played just 17 snaps a week after playing over 50 with Chris Godwin back in the lineup for Tampa Bay, and he was just targeted once by Tom Brady in the game. But he made it count. Tyler hauled in a seven yard pass for his first career NFL touchdown in the same Raymond James Stadium end zone has his crazy one handed catch in the Outback Bowl in January.

Carter Coughlin-LB-New York Giants

Week 6 vs Washington Football Team

Week 7 @ Philadelphoa Eagles (TNF)

Coughlin hit a NFL milestone as well as he played three defensive snaps for the Giants along with his special teams work. One of those three snaps Carter earned an assisted tackle—his first in the NFL! He has continued to earn more and more playing time as the season rolls on, so hopefully that trend continues.

Kamal Martin-LB-Green Bay Packers

Week 7 @ Houston Texans

Martin returned to practice last week for the Packers but unfortunately was not activated before the game against Tampa Bay to get a reunion with AWJ and Tyler. Martin is in line to be activated this weekend to make his NFL debut against the Texans in Houston.
