GoAUpher is off on assignment both this week and next and failed to provide us with a pre-game haiku or his traditional Gnome #Takes before disappearing into the ether, so if Minnesota loses to Michigan, you can blame him and his disregard for protocol.

The Enemy

Where Are They From? Ann Arbor, MI

All Time Series: 75-25-3 in favor of Michigan.

Last Game: 33-10 win for the Wolverines in 2017.

SB Nation Blog: Maize N Brew

This Season: NA

Keys to the game

  • Stop the run. The Wolverines are loaded at running back and have newcomers at every other position on offense. They are most certainly going to try and take advantage of the Gophers’ new-look defensive front to take pressure off quarterback Joe Milton.
  • Protect Tanner Morgan. Michigan defensive coordinator Don Brown is going to crank up the pressure on Morgan and smother Rashod Bateman and co. in press man coverage. Minnesota’s offensive line has to allow Morgan time in the pocket.
  • HAVE FUN! I mean this for everyone. Football is back!

How afraid am I?

On a scale of 1 to 5 “Brewsters on his face” (1 being not a afraid, 5 being very afraid):

I do not have GoAUpher’s photo editing skills, so please close your eyes and imagine that the photo above features four Brewsters face-planted onto the turf. Michigan is a talented team, and there are far too many unknowns in this game for me to feel all that confident.

Prediction
