Scheduling still proving to be difficult for upcoming season

Depending on your vantage point the 2020-21 Gophers basketball season schedule is either coming together or falling apart. On one hand, it was officially announced that Minnesota will face Boston College on Dec. 8 at Williams Arena as part of the annual Big Ten/ACC Challenge.

Simultaneously, the home-and-home series with Mississippi State will be pushed back by a season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which is the first of two fall-throughs on the schedule, as Minnesota also withdrew from the November Hall of Fame Tip-Off, which was originally supposed to feature a game against Marquette and UCF.

With the season supposed to start in just a few weeks, the confirmed schedule is pretty thin. Green Bay is due in town for the season opener on Nov. 25. There are rumors of games against North Dakota and Saint Louis, but no dates are yet confirmed. So we’ve got technically two games set in stone.

Things will need to get sorted out pretty quickly here if a full slate of games is expected by the start of the season. Not looking good!
