Unfortunately you are not going to be able to watch this game unless you have a BTN+ subscription. But the Gophers are getting their season tipped off. Here’s what you need to know about what it will take to get a win and start the season 1-0.

KEYS TO A GOPHER WIN

Make threes in the flow of the offense - A year ago we needed a higher three-point percentage and this year is going to be even more imperative without Oturu in the paint. Get threes in the context of what their trying to run. Balanced, in rhythm threes and make a lot of them.

Stop Amari Davis - The team’s top returning scorer who averaged nearly 16 points per game while not making a three all season. Strange right? A 6’3” guard who was 0-8 from three last year? That’s what his ESPN profile says and regardless, don’t let this guy score 25 points.

Rebound - I’m excited to see a number of guys, but we need to end possession with a rebound. I think the frontcourt, collectively, will be a better rebounding unit. Make that happen tonight and this game won’t be close.

PREDICTION

New Phoenix coach, the loss of a number of their top scorers and this game shouldn’t be close for the Gophers. We have plenty of questions to be answered, but Green Bay is going to be one of the bottom 100 teams in college basketball this year.

Minnesota - 82
Green Bay - 68
