Hey, so 0-2 is exactly where we all thought the Minnesota Golden Gophers were going to be coming into Illinois Fighting Illini week. Right? RIGHT?
Anywho, the rough start has dampened some of our staff’s picking vibes. Hey, it happens.
The Predictions

This Week’s Thoughts
GoAUpher: I’m going to keep picking Minnesota, because they’re gonna win eventually. Illinois seems like a good bet for that to happen given their pass defense is atrocious. One would hope that when they inevitably stack the box with 9 guys that the Gophers have learned to call passes. I’ve decided to embrace that hope.
GopherNation: We start to get right with this game.
gopherguy05: Our defense is not good. Illinois is on QB #4. something has got to give....right? RIGHT???
Blake Ruane: I defer to my opponent preview.
Ustreet: SHOOTOUT!
zipsofakron: There’s no way this can happen again right? RIGHT? I really think the Gophers get back on track here.
WhiteSpeedReceiver: Pray for people who like defense, assuming the game happens.
wildcat00: Because it’s Illinois, and if we can’t beat Illinois, we should just burn it all down!
mowe0018: To quote a great, rugged, scruffy-looking nerf-herder, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this.”
HipsterGopher: Browsing the 72 games these two teams have played, very few of are ever close (other than the 3 ties, and if predicting a tie was an option, I might have been tempted). Still I think it’ll be close so I picked the score from the 2010 Gopher victory, cuz what’s the point of doing this if I don’t pull for the squad.
Season “Records” So Far
I refuse to publish this listing until I have a correct pick. It’s my post and I’ll be petulant if I want to.
