With just one week left in the NFL regular season it will come down to the wire as to hoew many of the former Gophers will be headed to the playoffs and how many will head home for the offseason. The Bucs, Packers and Chiefs are in, and it will come down to the final week to see if the Cardinals will join them. Here is our recap of how the former Minnesota Golden Gophers performed in Week 16 in the NFL and a look ahead to Week 17.
Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals
Week 16 vs San Francisco 49ers
Week 17 @ Los Angeles Rams
Maxx missed week 16 with an ankle injury and it’s too early to tell if he will be back for a win and in situation for Arizona in week 17.
De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Arizona Cardinals
Week 16 vs San Francisco 49ers
Week 17 @ Los Angeles Rams
Campbell played 40 snaps in the win over the Eagles recording two solo and three assisted tackles.
Chris Streveler—Quarterback—Arizona Cardinals
Week 16 vs San Francisco 49ers
Week 17 @ Los Angeles Rams
Streveler did not see any game action in Week 16. BUT, Kyler Murray has a leg injury and while it is hopeful he can play in the final game of the regular season it’s not a given. If that happens it will be Streveler’s chance to lead the Cardinals to the playoffs.
Eric Murray-Safety Houston Texans
Week 16 vs Cincinnati Bengals
Week 17 vs Tennessee Titans
Murray missed his first game of the season against the Bengals last week as he tested positive for COVID. He most likely will miss the regular season finale this week against the Titans as well.
Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Kansas City Chiefs
Week 16 vs Atlanta Falcons
Week 17 vs Los Angeles Chargers
Wilson missed his third straight game with a knee injury as KC clinched the #1 seed in the AFC and a first round playoff bye. At this point you just hope Wilson can come back for the playoffs.
Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets
Week 16 vs Cleveland Browns
Week 17 @ New England Patriots
Cashman remains on IR with a hamstring injury and is done for the season.
Antoine Winfield Jr. —Safety—Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 16 @ Detroit Lions
Week 17 vs Atlanta Falcons
Antoine Winfield took it easy in Tampa’s blowout win over Detroit playing just 39 snaps and recording four tackles.
Tyler Johnson-WR-Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 16 @ Detroit Lions
Week 17 vs Atlanta Falcons
All it took was a blowout for Tyler Johnson to see more action. Tampa smoked Detroit and Tyler got 25 snaps on offense but was just targeted once. He made the most of that hauling in a 35 yard reception, most of it on yards after the catch.

Carter Coughlin-LB-New York Giants
Week 16 @ Baltimore Ravens
Week 17 vs Dallas Cowboys
Two weeks after peeking, Coughlin’s usage slipped once again as he played just 11 defensive snaps and didn’t record a stat in a loss to Baltimore.
Kamal Martin-LB-Green Bay Packers
Week 16 vs Tennessee Titans (SNF)
Week 17 @ Chicago Bears
Martin played just 13 defensive snaps and recorded one tackle in the Packers win over Tennessee.
Rodney Smith-RB-Carolina Panthers
Week 16 @ Washington Football Team
Week 17 vs New Orleans Saints
Smith continues to make the most of his opportunity with the Panthers as he played 21 offensive snaps against the WFT and rushed for 23 yards on seven carries and added 15 yards on two receptions.
