With their seventh verbal commitment of the month, head coach P.J. Fleck and co. have plucked yet another talent out of Illinois: Four-star athlete Sam Jackson. You may recall his name because he was previously committed to the Gophers.
A brief timeline of his recruitment:
- Februrary 3, 2019 - Jackson commits to P.J. Fleck and the Gophers
- Jackson continues to receive offers from everybody — Wisconsin, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas State, Iowa, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, Notre Dame and many more
- January 24, 2020 - Jackson decommits from the Gophers
- April 22, 2020 - Jackson commits to the Gophers (again)

Not a prospect who stands out physically on the hoof. Average height and needs to bulk up some. Does stand out on film as far as explosiveness and play-making ability. Fast, makes cuts at full speed and shows great ball skills for someone who has not played full-time receiver yet. Also has a strong arm at quarterback. The main question there is size as far as being a college signal caller. Too explosive and athletic though to not make an impact in college somewhere on offense. Even if it is as a receiver who plays quarterback part-time.
