In a perfect world, we’d be talking about the Gophers’ spring game today. Unfortunately, our world is far from perfect. But the good news is that we have good news. Last night, head coach P.J. Fleck and co. received a verbal commitment from Texas wide receiver Brady Boyd.

Scouting Report
Last season at Lone Star State football powerhouse Southlake Carroll, Boyd caught 66 passes for 969 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. His quarterback is Quinn Ewers, who happens to be the No. 1-ranked signal caller in the 2022 recruiting class according to 247 Sports. Boyd has been a weapon in the vertical passing for Ewers, showing top-end speed to get behind the defense and outrun defensive backs downfield. His ball skills have also turned heads, as he has displayed the ability to adjust to the throw and put himself in position to catch the ball. What he’ll need to continue to work on as a high school senior is in being more consistent in his burst off the line of scrimmage, and in utilizing his speed more in his route-running for short and intermediate passes.
