It has been a quiet summer for head coach P.J. Fleck and co. in terms of recruiting, but the silence has been broken with a commitment from Mississippi cornerback Justin Walley.

Scouting Report
Walley will play cornerback for the Gophers, but has played on both sides of the ball in high school. He recorded 74 tackles, seven pass breakups, seven forced fumbles, and one interception as a cornerback last season, in addition to 578 all-purpose yards and seven touchdowns as a wide receiver and running back on offense. Walley has also been a standout contributor on special teams, blocking one field goal and two punts as a junior. He is a playmaker with good but not elite speed, but is physical in pass coverage and can play man-to-man. Considering Walley was coveted by both in-state Power 5 programs, this is an impressive get for Minnesota.
