Minnesota ranked No. 18 in preseason Coaches Poll

Six Big Ten teams earned a spot in the poll

The preseason Coaches Poll has been released and the Minnesota Golden Gophers have the made cut, opening the season ranked at No. 18.

Out of the Big Ten, Ohio State is ranked the highest at No. 2, behind only top-ranked Clemson. Five other Big Ten programs, including Minnesota, were included — Penn State at No. 7, Wisconsin at No. 12, Michigan at No. 15, and Iowa at No. 23.

If a fall season happens, the Gophers could start the season with three games against ranked opponents in the month of September.
