Another week down in the NFL and we got another set of great performances from former Gophers—especially on the defensive side of the ball. Unfortunately we also added another few injuries to the list as well. A certain rookie continues to start a great NFL career, while a champion veteran really seems to be exploding into the prime of his career. Here is a look at how the former Minnesota Golden Gophers did in Week 2 of the NFL season, and a look ahead to Week 3.
Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals
Week 2 vs Washington Football Club
Week 3 vs Detroit Lions
Maxx became the third former Gopher to head to IR after missing all of last week with an ankle injury. He was inactive for the Cardinals win over Washington and now will miss at least the next three weeks.
De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Arizona Cardinals
Week 2 vs Washington Football Club
Week 3 vs Detroit Lions
Campbell had a great game for the Cardinals playing in 65 defensive snaps. He led Arizona with 8 tackles, and two assisted tackles, two tackles for loss and two pass defenses in their win.
Chris Streveler-QB-Arizona Cardinals
Week 2 vs Washington Football Club
Week 3 vs Detroit Lions
For the second week in a row Streveler got into the game in a gimmick play with both Kyler Murray and Streveler in at the same time, but this time he did not get the ball. It’s something to watch for in every game going forward for Arizona.
Eric Murray—Safety—Houston Texans
Week 2 vs Baltimore Ravens
Week 3 @ Pittsburgh Steelers
Murray started at safety for the Texans and played 59 snaps in the Texans loss to Baltimore. Murray recorded three tackles and assisted on four more in the Texans loss. Houston will try and win their first game this week when they head to Pittsburgh.
Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Kansas City Chiefs
Week 2 @ Los Angeles Chargers
Week 3 @ Baltimore Ravens (MNF)
Wilson once again had a great game. He helped KC go 2-0 on the season with a team high seven tackles and assisted on five more. He added a tackle for loss as well. The Chiefs head to Baltimore in a huge early season Monday night clash next week.
Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets
Week 2 vs San Francisco 49ers
Week 3 @ Indianapolis Colts
Cashman spent week 1 of his minimum three week stint on IR as the Jets fell to 0-2.
Antoine Winfield Jr. —Safety—Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 2 vs Carolina Panthers
Week 3 @ Denver Broncos
Antoine Winfield is becoming one of the best young safeties in the NFL after two games. Winfield played in 72 of a possible 73 defensive snaos for the Buccaneers in their win over Carolina. Winfield ended up with eight tackles, with an additional three assisted tackles, his first NFL QB sack, and his first NFL forced fumble. He’sonly the second best safety in the NFL through two weeks according to Pro Football Focus. Not bad young man.
Antoine Winfield Jr. blitzes off the edge and does a good job of fighting through the RB's block to get a strip sack.

Winfield being paired with a blitz-happy DC like Todd Bowles is a perfect match of player and scheme. pic.twitter.com/pdzThew60F
Antoine Winfield Jr. is the 2nd rated safety in the entire NFL after two weeks with a 77.4 grade per @PFF.

Tyler Johnson-WR-Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 2 vs Carolina Panthers
Week 3 @ Denver Broncos
Johnson was inactive for the second week in a row.
Carter Coughlin-LB-New York Giants
Week 2 @ Chicago Bears
Week 3 vs San Francisco 49ers
The injury bug made it’s way to New York this week as well as Carter Coughlin was inactive for the Giant’s Week 2 game in Chicago with a hamstring injury. Hopefully it will be short lived and he can get back to action Sunday against the 49ers.
