Minnesota Basketball: Liam Robbins earns Big Ten Player of the Week

The Gopher center earned the award after a dominating performance against Ohio State

NCAA Basketball: Michigan State at Minnesota Harrison Barden-USA TODAY Sports

Just 1 week after Marcus Carr won the award, Liam Robbins becomes the latest Gopher to win Big Ten Player of the Week honors.

The Gopher center actually had 3 games to count towards this week’s award but he had a fantastic week. Robbins averaged 19 points and almost 11 rebounds per game as the team went 2-1.

But what really put Robbins over the top for the award was his dominating performance yesterday against Ohio State. In that game, Robbins had 27 points, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks and 4 assists. While also putting the Ohio State frontcourt into perpetual foul trouble.

Congrats to the junior who has been steadily improving throughout the year.
