NCAA Football: Betting locks for week 5 of college football and Hate Week

Here we go with week 5. I’m dubbing this Hate Week, mostly because I’m picking against Iowa and Wisconsin. Cross your fingers and say your prayers.

You’ll have to take my word for it that I was 2-1 last week. Someone forgot to publish the article. I accurately suggested that you take Bowling Green +31 and Notre Dame +6, incorrectly suggested Michigan State -5 over Nebraska. But that was in the past, we are rowing forward.

Moving on to this week’s locks.

Michigan +2 over Wisconsin

I’m struggling to understand how Wisconsin is favored in this game. This pick makes me a bit nervous because usually Vegas knows things we don’t and while this is a line that surprised me, I’m dubious.

With that said...F Wisconsin.

Maryland +3 over Iowa

I actually kind of that Iowa really is the team to beat in the West. But also, they’ve been living on a high degree of luck this year. It is like the Bears, every few years they have a really good season based on a defense that generates turnovers and often turnovers that lead to points. Is it because they are really good on defense? Yeah, that’s true. Is there a bit of a luck factor to turnovers and turnovers that lead to defensive points? Yeah, that’s true too. In their two games against P5 caliber opponents their defense scored 3 TDs and their offense didn’t manage any 2nd half points in either game.

I see Maryland at home not turning the ball over and beating the Hawkeyes.

Also, I’d take the under. Also, F Iowa.

Minnesota +2.5 over Purdue

I really think the Gophers are going to look like a very different team this week. And this line is especially juicy assuming Bell isn’t playing for Purdue.

Michigan and Wisconsin (Total 43.5).

Seriously bet the heck on the under for this. Wisconsin’s offense is heinous, but Wisconsin’s defense sort of seems good? I mean as long at Mertz isn’t chucking the ball on the regular to the other team.

GopherNation and I agree that we do not know why Wisconsin is favored, especially since Michigan Persons (fight the hetero-normative view that says only Michigan Men can be self important) tend to have money and are winning to throw it away on dumb things like this shirt for $42

Michigan versus everyone with common sense in their wallets. Anyway, this game will probably be terrible, though not as terrible as I expect the Minnesota-Purdue game to be.
