Minnesota Gophers Football vs. Purdue Boilermakers: Staff Predictions

Let’s be real clear about this. No one on the TDG staff has any idea what version of the Gophers is showing up this week. I could be the team that waxed Colorado. Or it could be the one that shat itself against Bowling Green. For now, everyone seems to have chosen optimism. Will we be rewarded? We find out tomorrow.

EDIT: Please note than an earlier version of this post incorrectly showed zipsofakron as picking Minnesota. That was wrong, as zips is currently a broken soul expecting nothing but heartbreak until proven otherwise. I apologize to zips for misrepresenting his pain.

GoAUpher: Hell, I don’t know. I just feel like being optimistic. Don’t look for an explanation, I still don’t know what team is showing up each week.

gopherguy05: Another close game between these schools that come down to field goals in the end.

GopherNation: I’m expecting a big bounce back on the road.

HipsterGopher: These two programs have tied three times. and if that were still possible it would be the most fitting outcome in my humble opinion.

mowe0018: One game does not a season make. I think the Gophers will look more like a middling Big Ten team this week, which means they will beat another middling Big Ten team away because I am a optimistic homer.

UStreet: In lieu of predicting scores, I’m offering the fan base a sure fire way to prove I have no idea what I’m talking about. G: Is this the official betting prediction?

U: Oh yes.

I’m not really sure what book is taking these bets, but given how perturbed gg05 was last week I’m comfortable saying Street is a stone cold lock with this one.

White Speed Receiver: Fuck them trains.

wildcat00: Heck if I know. /shrug

zipsofakron: Football is life. Life is pain. Therefore, football is pain.

This prediction is more me steeling myself for a loss rather than thinking it will happen. It will be painful, regardless.
