Week 7 for the former Gophers in the NFL had some stars popping and some new blood arriving again. De’Vondre Campbell continues to shine for the Green and Gold and Rashod Bateman and Chris Williamson both saw their second career NFL games this past weekend. here is how all the former Minnesota Gophers did in the NFL in Week 7 and a look ahead to Week 8.
Maxx Williams— Tight End— Arizona Cardinals
Season Over—Injured Reserve
Chris Streveler—Quarterback—Arizona Cardinals
Week 7 vs Houston Texans
Week 8 vs Green Bay Packers (TNF)
Streveler was inactive as the third QB for Arizona last weekend and did not dress for the game.
Eric Murray-Safety Houston Texans
Week 7 @ Arizona Cardinals
Week 8 vs Los Angeles Rams
Murray was made to play some defensive snaps this week for Houston due to injuries in their secondary...and it didn’t go well. Arizona easily beat them 31-5. Murray played 17 defensive snaps and 20 special teams snaps recording a pair of solo tackles in the loss. It gets no easier this weekend against the Rams
Damien Wilson—Linebacker—Jacksonville Jaguars
Week 7 Bye
Week 8 @ Seattle Seahawks
Wilson and the Jags were on a bye week.
De’Vondre Campbell—Linebacker—Green Bay Packers
Week 7 vs Washington Football Team
Week 8 @ Arizona Cardinals
Campbell continues to blow up in a good way for the Pack this season. For the third week in a row he was praised in the postgame press conference by Aaron Rogers and for good reason as Campbell played all 72 defensive snaps, recoded ten solo tackles, three assisted tackles, and forced a pair of fumbles in the Packers win over WTF. It sets up one of the best games on paper in the NFL this season on Thursday night in Arizona in a homecoming for Campbell who was a Cardinal last season.
Blake Cashman—Linebacker—New York Jets
Week 7 @ New England Patriots
Week 8 vs Cincinnati Bengals
Cashman saw the most action he has all season playing 33 defensive snaps and 9 special teams snaps and recorded three solo tackles in the loss to the Patriots.
Antoine Winfield Jr. —Safety—Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 7 vs Chicago Bears
Week 8 @ New Orleans Saints
Winfield returned to action after missing two games with a concussion and played 58 snaps against the Bears on Sunday. He recorded two solo tackles, an assisted tackle, earned a QB hit and forced a Justin Fields fumble in the blowout win.

Tyler Johnson-WR-Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Week 7 vs Chicago Bears
Week 8 @ New Orleans Saints
Johnson saw the most action he has all season long on Sunday with a pair of Tampa WR’s out. He played 49 offensive snaps and was targeted twice by Tom Brady catching both passes for a total of 16 yards.
Carter Coughlin-LB-New York Giants
Week 7 vs Carolina Panthers
Week 8 @ Kansas City Chiefs (MNF)
Coughlin only saw five defensive snaps to go along with 22 special teams snaps in the win over Carolina. He recorded one assisted tackle.
Benjamin St. Juste—CB—Washington Football Team
Week 7 @ Green Bay Packers
Week 8 @ Denver Broncos
Benjamin St. Juste was back to a full workload against the Packers playin all but one defensive snap and adding six special teams snaps in the loss. He recorded three solo tackles.
Rashod Bateman—WR—Baltimore Ravens
Week 7 vs Cincinnati Bengals
Week 8 Bye
Week 2 of the Rashod Bateman NFL experience went about how week 1 went. He played 46 offensive snaps—one more than the previous week and was targeted six times, the same as the game against the Chargers. This time he made three catches instead of four, but they went for 80 yards against the Bengals including a 35 yard reception nearly tripling his earlier output.
Ryan Santoso —Kicker —Detroit Lions
Week 7 @ Los Angeles Rams
Week 8 vs Philadelphia Eagles
New week same story for Santoso. He was was on the Lions protected list in Week 7 not allowing a different NFL team to poach him from the Lions practice squad, but he was not called up and did not play in the Lions loss to the Rams. He most likely will be protected once more in Week 8, but it has yet to be officially announced.
Kamal Martin—LB—Carolina Panthers
Week 7 @ New York Giants
Week 8 @ Atlanta Falcons
Martin was back in the lineup after missing a week with a concussion. He played five defensive snaps and 15 special teams snaps recording his first tackle on the season in the loss to Carter Coughlin and the Giants.
Chris Williamson—CB—Atlanta Falcons
Week 7 @ Miami Dolphins
Week 8 vs Carolina Panthers
Williamson was promoted to the Falcons active roster for the second time this season last Sunday against the Dolphins and started at nickelback. He played 24 defensive snaps and 13 special teams snaps recording two solo tackles and an assisted tackle in the win.
With his two callups up Williamson either now must be signed to the Falcons active roster or be cut this week. On Monday Atlanta cut fellow CB TJ Green indicating that Williamson has a good chance to be added to the active 53-man roster for at least a few more weeks for Atlanta. Falcons coach Arthur Smith told the media
“All options are on the table,” said Smith when asked of Williamson. “We’ll know as the week goes on. Like I said, we feel pretty good about where we’re at with the health of our team right now, and so we feel like we’ll have options at the end of the week.”
Rodney Smith—RB—Free Agent
Smith remains a free agent but worked out on Tuesday for the New England Patriots. Will he be signed in New England? Only time will tell, but check back next week.
