Jamal Mashburn Jr. expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
With Marcus Carr likely to enter the draft, Mashburn was expected to be the starting point guard for Minnesota next season. The freshman play in 29 games last season, and started eight of them. He averaged 8.2 PPG and 22 MPG, showing flashes of being a dominant scorer.
Entering the transfer portal does not mean that Mashburn will actually transfer, but as it stands today the Gophers have no point guards on the roster. The next coach will have to fill a major hole at the most important position in college basketball.
