The Minnesota Golden Gophers have officially announced that a spring football game will be held on Saturday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at TCF Bank Stadium.
The game will be televised on the Big Ten Network.
Per the official release from the university, up to 10,000 fans will be allowed to attend the game, in accordance with state and local health guidelines. Tickets are free of charge and available on a first come, first served basis. All fans will be required to claim a free ticket before the game, and tickets will be available in 2 or 4 seat pods to allow for social distancing.
You can claim your ticket or tickets here.
Face coverings, which cover the nose and mouth at all times, must be worn by all spectators inside TCF Bank Stadium. Tailgating will not be permitted on university property or in parking lots and bags will not be permitted inside the stadium.
All fans are also encouraged to decorate an oar and bring it to the game. A collection point will be located outside the stadium on the Tribal Nations Plaza. Hundreds of personalized oars have been decorated by Gopher fans and are prominently displayed in the home tunnel as the team takes the field. Additionally, the team will be hosting a diaper drive to benefit the Diaper Bank of Minnesota. Fans can drop off diapers on TCF Bank Stadium’s Tribal Nations Plaza before entering the stadium on the day of the game.
Leading up to the game, we will continue our coverage of spring Gopher football by previewing each position group. Minnesota returns all but two starters from last season’s squad, which finished 3-4 after completing an abbreviated season.
