Luke Loewe
Ht: 6’4”
Wt: 185
High School: Fon Du Lac, WI
What we are getting in Loewe is a scoring guard who had a successful 4 year career for the Tribe. Loewe is taking advantage of the bonus year being given to athletes due to the Covid year, whether or not he counts towards the actual scholarship or not is TBD at this point.
In 2020-21, Loewe scored 16.2 ppg as a senior and earned himself 2nd team All-Colonial honors. Over this junior and senior season, Loewe shot just over 37% from three. As a junior, Loewe was a starter for the Tribe who finished 2nd in the CAA with a 21-11 overall record.
With the potential losses of Gabe Kalscheur, Tre Williams, Marcus Carr and Jamal Mashburn Jr, the Gophers are going to need several bodies to play in the backcourt. Loewe is guaranteed to be here for just 1 season and should have an opportunity to play quite a few minutes in the Big Ten.
