What’s happening?
As you may (or may not) remember, TCF Bank merged with Huntington Bank at the end of last year. The merger meant that TCF no longer existed, which put TCF Bank Stadium on a countdown to doom (for the name, not the structure).
Tomorrow, that (sad?) fate will be sealed.

- Ugh, that logo is gawdawful. I mean, Huntington’s logo sucks already and their colors remind me of mashed peas so it’s not like there was a lot to work with but still.
Get ready for the #Gophers stadium rebranding to get approved tomorrow by the UMN Regents. It's still 'The Bank' -- just will soon be Huntington Bank Stadium. pic.twitter.com/mAAM93gugO

- Yay for it getting to remain “The Bank”? I guess? I mean, better for the colloquial name to remain the same I guess, but this merger is a reminder that the best thing would have been to people start using a nickname that wasn’t sponsor dependant.
- This is also reminder about how lucky we were to get TCF Bank as a sponsor in the first place (for logo color purposes only). The actual corporate colors were a perfect fit with the Minnesota Gophers, one that I can’t imagine any other company matching. I mean, Grain Belt Stadium would be perfect too and “The Big Friendly” is an odd but somehow better nickname for a stadium than The Bank. Sadly there’s a whole thing about the U not doing alcohol sponsorship and whatnot. But everyone else out there? Sorry, your colors are no good (watch me be proven wrong in the comments).
- Dolla’ dolla’ bills y’all. This is happening. I suppose it’s fitting the new logo’s colors represent the reason why.
- We’re not going to care in a little over 2 months. You’ll see the new logo, shake your head, and forget about it because it really doesn’t matter in the scheme of things.
Time for a sad sounding song*

Doo doo doo do, doo doo doo do
Doo doo doo do, doo doo doo do
Doo doo doo do, doo doo doo do
Doo doo doo do, doo doo doo do
Understand the things I say
Don’t empty out and leave
‘Cause I’ve spent my life on campus
You wouldn’t disagree
Do you see me, do you see?
Do you like me
Do you like me standing empty?
Do you notice, do you know
Do you see me, do you see me?
Does anyone care?
Unhappiness where’s when Brew coached here
And we didn’t win enough
‘Cause we were raised
To see life as sad n’ be happy if we can
My benches, my benches
They’d hold you
They’d hold you when you sat out there
The fanbase, the fanbase
They liked me, well they liked me
Does anyone care?
Understand what I’ve become
It wasn’t my design
And people everywhere think
Something better than I am
But I miss you, I miss
‘Cause I liked it
‘Cause I liked it
When I was out there
Do you know this, do you know
You did not find me
You did not find
Does anyone care?
Unhappiness where’s when Brew coached here
And we didn’t win enough
‘Cause we were raised
To see life as sad n’ be happy if we can
My benches, my benches
They’d hold you
They’d hold you when you sat out there
The fanbase, the fanbase
They liked me, well they liked me
Does anyone care?
Does anyone care?
Does anyone care?
Does anyone care?
Does anyone care?
Does anyone care?
Does anyone care?
Does anyone care?
