The Gopher basketball roster saw some significant turnover this offseason. The one (ONE!) player returning from last season’s team was Isaiah Ihnen. (Until Eric Curry changed his mind a few weeks ago). But it was announced this afternoon that Ihnen suffered a knee injury during a summer practice and will miss the 2021-22 season.

An incredibly tough blow to Ihnen who seemed to be ideally suited for a coaching staff change and was poised to take on a much larger role this season. And also a significant setback to Ben Johnson and his upcoming season.
The roster was already depleted and full of random transfers from smaller schools. The players capable of playing in the frontcourt was already very thin. It is now bordering on ugly.
- SF - Jamison Battle -
- PF - Parker Fox - D2 transfer (out for the season with a torn ACL that happened less that 48 hours after committing to Minnesota)
- PF - Charlie Daniels - Stephen F Austin transfer, also not yet on campus
- F/C - Eric Curry - has missed 2 separate seasons due to knee injuries
- C - Treyton Thompson - true freshman
Ihnen was likely to start and play a ton of minutes. His loss is significant. Best of luck to the young man as he recovers and rehabs, looking forward to next season.
