Minnesota Football vs. Eastern Michigan: Staff Predictions

zipsofakron is the voice of optimism this week

It’s game day! Tonight, the Minnesota Golden Gophers (1-0) will host the Eastern Michigan Eagles at Huntington Bank Stadium at 6:30 p.m. CT. These two programs have never met before.

This Week’s Thoughts:

Blake: It’ll be closer than people would like, but Minnesota prevails.

GoAUpher: I have no logic, just vibes.

gopherguy05: Minnesota’s defense should be stout, but we still need to see if the offense can move the ball consistently. EMU returned a pair of kickoffs for touchdowns last week, so special teams coverage will be massive. It will be a fairly comfortable win, but still probably closer than some may like.

GopherNation: I fear a couple Minnesota turnovers and the offense continues to struggle. But the defense will score a touchdown.

HipsterGopher: In my season prediction, this was the only loss on the year. Upon finding out Minnesota and Eastern Michigan have never played each other, I am now extremely confident in this new prediction.

mowe0018: Just win and no injuries. Then rest and prepare to hit the road.

Ustreet: Win and no injuries please.

WhiteSpeedReceiver: How bout we run the damn ball?

zipsofakron: The yips are out, the defense is stout and I think the offense is ready to get some momentum going and really show what they can do now that they have a game under their belt.
